| How we can help - Services we offer |
 |
Using a range of diagnostic procedures we can assess your hearing system. Our experience enables us to provide you with the best possible advice on the options open to you. If referral to your GP or another professional is recommended, this can be arranged with your agreement.
If you are seeing an Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant privately, we are able to offer a full range of diagnostic tests, which may be requested by your consultant to complement your appointment. |

Where you may benefit from private digital hearing aid/s, the options available to you will be discussed. Should you wish to proceed with private hearing aid/s from us, we can talk through the benefits of the different options available.
Due to the fact that we are Independent Registered Hearing Aid Dispensers, we have no ties to any particular hearing aid manufacturer, which means that we are uniquely placed to advise you on the best hearing aid to meet your specific needs.
A very important part of fitting hearing aids is the involvement of the people around you. With your agreement, we try to involve friends and family close to you, as they are best placed to help you realise all the benefits from your new hearing aid.
Hearing aids are offered on a 60 day money back trial period, so if there is anything about the hearing aid you do not like within this period, you are entitled to a refund'.

Through our Clinical Scientist training we are qualified to assess and provide help for people with a range of balance problems, following referral from one of our local medical ENT Consultants.
Balance problems can range from simple to complex conditions and can be assessed using a variety of different tests. Prior to any assessment, we will explain the specific tests you require. These tests enable us to then design a tailored ‘rehabilitation’ programme for you.

Our unique “one-stop” Dizzy Clinic runs monthly at the Basford Consulting Rooms. Here, you can be assessed by both ourselves and one of our ENT Consultants, Mr W V Carlin FRCS. This clinic, the only one of its kind in the region, enables us to jointly assess your balance problem, and provide you with either medical assistance or rehabilitation to manage your symptoms. |

 |
We have extensive experience helping patients with balance difficulties by providing individualised balance management and rehabilitation programmes. These can include exercises to reduce dizziness caused by head movement and unsteadiness when walking or moving. |

We offer expert diagnostic assessment, interpretation and reporting for hearing, balance and tinnitus in medico-legal cases. We work independently or in conjunction with Ear, Nose & Throat Consultant colleagues where medical reports are required. |
| |
 |
As Clinical Scientists, working with local medical colleagues, we can assess any tinnitus (noises in the ears) or hyperacusis (sensitivity to ordinary levels of sound) you may be experiencing.
We then offer a variety of tailored rehabilitation programmes, which can help you manage these difficulties, which can involve the fitting of hearing aids or tinnitus maskers.

Through our Clinical Scientist training, we can undertake assessments on children. We can then discuss the different options available and where appropriate provide management programmes for children with hearing and balance problems. |

Studies suggest that up to 73% of people who have a learning disability could have a hearing loss. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities are sometimes at particular risk of not being able to access appropriate assessment and care. It is common for adults with hearing loss and learning disability to have their hearing behaviour attributed to their learning disability, rather than being properly diagnosed and managed.
We have both been fortunate to have gained extensive experience working with children and adults with complex needs, multiple sensory impairments, learning disabilities and dual diagnosis. We have experience in assessing individual requirements, working with family members, friends and carers to provide personally tailored rehabilitation programmes. |

 |
| Sometimes once the hearing aid has been fitted, complementary devices around the home for the television or phone are required. We are able to provide the full range of these devices; this can be discussed with you as required. |
| |
 |
| We have experience in delivering training and awareness sessions in hearing impairment awareness, communication advice, listening tactics, tinnitus and balance to both small and large groups. |
