Holt Hearing and Balance Services is a well established Audiology business with a close knit dedicated team covering most of England and Wales. We offer quality private diagnostic assessments and comprehensive rehabilitation for hearing, balance and tinnitus difficulties, along with provision of quality private digital hearing aids. We also offer hearing protection for both industry and leisure.
What we do
We offer customised assessments and impartial advice to suit individual needs. We work closely with a range of professionals locally, including a wide number of Ear Nose and Throat Consultants, to ensure that you receive the best possible care and advice.
We offer appointments throughout the Midlands, Cheshire and Mid Wales. We try to offer flexible appointments where possible and we can see patients who have private health insurance or who wish to self-fund for services. We are HPC registered which means we meet the standards set out by our UK regulator. Please click the link to the right for more information on the Health Professions Council.

We are Independent State Registered Consultant Clinical Scientists (Audiology), State Registered Hearing Aid Dispensers and Specialist Audiology Practitioners. We maintain our registration and continuing professional development through regularly attending high level training courses (validated by British Academy of Audiology and Health Professions Council). This ensures our expert assessments and rehabilitation advice remain leading edge and evidence-based.

MARIANNE HOLT
Consultant Clinical Scientist (Audiologist)
Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser (registration no. 50890)
Following completion of a degree in Physics at Oxford University, Marianne completed a Masters degree in Audiology at Southampton University in 1996. She then trained as an Audiological Scientist at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, completing her Certificate of Audiological Competence in 1997. She worked in Berkshire until 2002 then moved to North Staffordshire to work initially with children with hearing loss, and then with adults with hearing and balance difficulties. From 2005 until 2007, she worked as Consultant Audiological Scientist at the University Hospital of Northern Staffordshire. Since then she has enjoyed dedicating more of her time to developing services provided by her private practice.
Marianne loves her work and particularly thrives on building relationships with patients. In her spare time she loves spending time with her four children. She enjoys an active lifestyle keeping fit and running. She loves cooking and enjoying good food too!
PHILIP HOLT
Consultant Clinical Scientist (Audiologist)

Philip has worked in Audiology for over 35 years, initially training to be an Audiologist at the Royal Eye Ear and Throat Hospital in Shrewsbury. He then completed a Masters degree in Audiology at Manchester University in 1996, completed his Certificate of Audiological Competence in 1999 and then moved to North Staffordshire as Consultant Audiological Scientist at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. There he developed, co-ordinated and ran district hearing and balance services for adults and children.
He completed a Masters in Business Administration in 2004 at Staffordshire University. From 2005, he worked for the University of Manchester, leading Audiology research networks and teaching undergraduate and post-graduate Audiology students. Whilst keeping a part time lecturing position at the university, Philip is enjoying focussing his energies on providing quality services to patients within Holt Services at their increasing range of locations.
Philip is a proud father to Bethan, Harry, George and Rhiannon. His interests include both beach and fly fishing, gardening, and scuba diving. In 2009 Philip was honoured to be elected President of the British Academy of Audiology, of which he has been a member throughout his career.

Aimee Cooke
Audiologist
Operations Manager

Aimee started working at Holt Hearing and Balance Services in 2013, initially working in the office coordinating appointments and repairing hearing aids.
Aimee has always had an interest in learning and healthcare. In the time between 2013- 2018, Aimee completed her Masters Degree in Psychology and her Hearing Aid Audiology Degree at Anglia Ruskin University.
She now specialises in Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Assessment and management, using elements of cognitive behavioural therapy, sleep and sound enrichment. This is the part of the job she finds most fascinating and enjoys.
More recently, alongside patient appointments, Aimee has helped to publish a book on Sudden Hearing Loss and is providing national talks on tinnitus and hyperacusis.
Ellie Gregory
Audiologist
BSc (Hons) Audiology

Ellie joined us in October 2024 after completing her Audiology degree. She offers diagnostic hearing assessments, hearing aid fittings, and wax removal via micro suction, all delivered with care and precision.
Ellie is currently undertaking a masterclass in tinnitus and hyperacusis. She is now starting to see patients for assessment and rehabilitation in this specialised area.
She has also recently completed her Lyric training and is looking forward to seeing patients with this discreet, extended-wear hearing aid option.
Kirsty Saive
Audiologist
HCPC Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser (Registration no. HAD02872)
Kirsty has worked with us for many years now providing a friendly and excellent service for hearing aid assessment, hearing aid fitting, wax removal and diagnostic hearing assessment. She has trained in Lyric assessment and fitting and so provides this at our consulting rooms at Basford.
Kirsty gets no end of compliments for her excellent level of care to all of her patients and we are very lucky to have her as part of our team.
Currently Kirsty is completing a Vestibular Rehabiliation degree at Aston University, to enable her to provide rehabiliation for a number of balance disorders.
James Stibbards
Audiologist
BSc (Hons) Audiology
James has been with Holt Hearing for many years, providing Hearing and Vestibular assessment and rehabiliation. He enjoys this side of diagnostic balance assessment and audiology as he loves to problem solve. Patients find him to be very thorough and comment on his amazing ability to help them with their balance difficulties.
James has completed his training in wax removal via microsuction & Lyric assessment and Fitting. He enjoys seeing patients for a wide variety of services in the North West.
Vignapti Patel
Audiologist
Clinical Scientist
Vignapti has provided invaluable support running Friday balance clinics in Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Liverpool, Manchester and Chester over the past 8 years with Holt Hearing.
She enjoys providing Vestibular assessment and rehabiliation since completing her Clinical Scientist training at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Vignpati's exerpeince and love for what she does gains her no end of compliments with patients and consultants she works with.
Sarah Evans
Office Manager
Sarah joined us in June 2023 and is now managing the office day-to-day. She enjoys coordinating appointments and answering calls.
Sarah works incredibly hard to ensure the best quality of care for all of our patients. Sarah is always happy to help and support the best way she can.
Natalie Birks
Diagnostic & Rehabilitation Services Representative
Natalie joined us in September 2022 to provide customer care and support based at our offices. She is extremely hard-working and always happy to help.
Natalie deals with booking diagnostic assessments and coordinating hearing aid services to our valued customers. Nothing will ever be too much trouble where Natalie is concerned.
Laura Bell
Medico Legal Services Representative
Prior to employment with Holt Hearing, Laura enjoyed completing healthcare services as a labratory assistant. Her keen attention to detail means she excells in offering excellent customer care with a friendly smile and laugh.
Laura deals with solicitor referrals, noise-induced hearing loss claims and social media coordinator.
Michelle Gliddon
Finance Administrator
Michelle started with the team in 2023 as the financial administrator. Michelle deals day-to-day with invoicing, payments and insurance companies to provide a seamless experience for our patients.
She enjoys bringing in treats for the office to enjoy in her spare time!
